Friendship Park is located near the capital's airport. This is a fairly large park with unique cultural and historical sites. The central part is occupied by an artificial lake, on which in summer you can sail on catamarans and boats. In the center of the lake there is an island with a cafe, to which humpback bridges lead. At sunrise and sunset, the water in the lake takes on a beautiful hue, and the light of the sun ripples throughout the surroundings.
Like many other recreation parks in Tashkent, Friendship Park has changed several names - once it was a park named after Kirov, then - named after the great poet and commander Zakhiriddin Babur. Locals habitually call this place Babur Park.
The park has a clear division into cultural and entertainment parts. There is a bell right on the path connecting the two entrances to the park. They say that if you go up to it and lightly tap the skirt of the bell, your wish will come true. In fact, this is a peace bell, installed in 2003 with the support of the Japanese community. It is not surprising that this place has become popular among newlyweds. Meeting a wedding procession in the park is already the norm.
On the other side of the lake there is a unique sculpture of friendship between peoples and children from different countries. Around it, borders are tiled in the shape of a pool. Each tile is the result of handiwork by children and adults from all over the world. On the tiles are wishes for goodness and peace, drawings and patterns.
Some of the tiles have already been lost, but even the surviving part conveys valuable information about the mutual support of countries, friendship and solidarity of peoples. The entertainment part of the park consists of a summer stage, several cafes and carousels. The park also has a shooting range, various attractions where participants can win valuable prizes, and a Ferris wheel.
Through the same park you can get to Seoul Park or the playground. The territory of the park itself has an elongated shape and neat paths lead to remote corners of the park. This place is popular among students, as the University of Uzbek Language and Culture is nearby. You can often meet couples in love here, as the park is conducive to romance. The central road of the park consists entirely of fountains, giving visitors coolness on hot summer evenings.
Canaan Travel advises visiting this park to all residents and guests of Uzbekistan without exception - friendship between cities, countries, continents is the key to peace and mutual understanding throughout the planet, and such an attraction as Friendship Park helps to feel the unity of peoples.
