Central Park named after Mirzo Ulugbek is one of the oldest and most famous parks in Tashkent. This is now “Central Park”, but previously it was called differently. You rarely hear the name Central Park from local residents. Those who are younger simply call it Mirzo Ulugbek Park, and older people call it Ernst Thälmann Park. So it’s easier for taxi drivers to explain the location based on the oldest name of the park. By the way, what is noteworthy is that another park also bore the name of Mirza Ulugbek - now the cultural and recreation park named after Gafur Gulyam.
The park has been reconstructed twice recently, but has retained its authenticity and special appearance. On the territory today you can find many interesting exhibits - both architectural fountains and simply stone installations hidden in the foliage of trees.
The most popular place for photo sessions here is the fountain, designed in the form of a waterfall. Sometimes Tashkent residents come to the park just for a few good shots against its background.
In the park, on the descent (by the way, the park is located on a slope) there is a semblance of an observation deck, which offers views of the entertainment area and the lake. Many paths crossing the park wind and lead through its territory, revealing many interesting and picturesque corners of it.
In the very center of the park there is an open stage where members of cultural centers of different nations regularly hold performances and live performances by local musical groups. Among the many attractions presented here, the European-style carousel with horses is especially popular - this is one of the favorite places for photo shoots. A small lake creates a cozy atmosphere in the park. There is also an area for lovers, decorated with hearts and wishes.
The food zone is designed in the shape of a small European town - two-story and one-story houses lined up along a stone path, hung with signs for “Ice Cream,” “Fast Food,” and “Drinks.” This is one of the kids’ favorite places, as you can buy cotton candy and popcorn here. In addition, the park has two playgrounds and a small attraction with cars.
Due to the fact that the attraction is located in the central part of the city, there are many public transport routes nearby. In addition, there are many other entertainment venues within walking distance from the park.
